On March 11, 2014, Freelancer.com has revised the Premium Membership plan.

Over the past several years Freelancer.com has grown enormously. They now have over 10 million users, and are proud to be continually increasing the functionality and utility of the site. They believe that the value of Freelancer.com has grown, especially for their high ranking freelancers. Premium Members are the heaviest users on the site, leveraging higher bids and greater features into a large number of awarded projects.

As of March 11th, the current monthly pricing “Only for Premium Members” will be increased from $49.95 to $199.95 USD (or equivalent), the available monthly bids will increase to 1500 per month, and the available skills will be 400. There will be no other changes to the Premium Plan at this time.(What more can anyone expect after overnight increase of $150 USD!!)

As for current Premium Members, they are provided a grace period before this change impacts them. This grace period will be for one renewal only (for 30 days) as of today.

For Premium Members, membership fee increased from $49.95 to sudden $199.95 USD seems a bit too much.Yes its true they have increased bids per month from 500 to 1500 and skill to 400.However, is it worth paying nearly $200 USD per month for membership “alone” where maximum projects budget ranges from $30 – $250 USD!

Time to think seriously freelancers!
